Qualified Cleaning Professionals: Who We Trust in Client Properties
Inviting a cleaning professional into your home or property requires more than confidence in their ability to clean.
You also need to know that the person entering your space has been properly identified, screened, trained, and prepared to follow clear professional standards.
Black Haven does not assign service requests to just anyone who applies. Cleaning professionals must complete an approval process before they can represent Black Haven in client properties.
Experience Matters—but Honesty Matters Too
Cleaning experience can come from many different environments.
A professional may have experience with recurring residential cleaning, move-outs, commercial spaces, post-construction work, short-term rentals, specialty cleaning, or challenging property conditions.
We ask applicants to provide an honest account of:
Their professional cleaning experience
The services they have previously completed
The products, tools, and equipment they know how to use
The surfaces and property conditions they have worked with
The areas where they may need additional training
Their experience communicating with clients
Their ability to document completed work
We do not expect every applicant to know every cleaning method. We do expect them to be honest about what they know, ask questions when they are unsure, and follow the approved process they have been taught.
A professional who admits they need guidance is safer and more trustworthy than someone who guesses inside a client’s home.
Identity and Criminal Record Checks
Cleaning professionals may work inside occupied homes, empty properties, offices, and spaces containing valuable or personal belongings.
Before being approved to represent Black Haven, applicants must provide valid government-issued identification and an acceptable criminal record check.
These requirements help us verify who we are working with and support the trust our clients place in our company.
Screening is only one part of qualification. It must be supported by training, professional conduct, communication, and consistent work.
The Black Haven Pro-Cleaning Academy
Black Haven’s training program was developed from 20 years of hands-on professional cleaning experience.
The Pro-Cleaning Academy teaches the standards and procedures expected from professionals representing Black Haven, including:
Workplace safety
Hazard awareness
Chemical and product safety
Cross-contamination prevention
Equipment and tool care
Professional cleaning order
Time and priority management
Residential cleaning fundamentals
Detailed room-by-room cleaning techniques
Specialty surface care
Client privacy and respectful conduct
Completion photographs
Service reports and professional communication
Training is not limited to showing someone what to clean. It teaches them how to assess a surface, choose an appropriate method, work safely, protect the property, and communicate concerns.
Knowledge Must Be Demonstrated
Access to the Pro-Cleaning Academy is available to anyone who wants to improve their professional cleaning knowledge. However, completing the Academy does not automatically qualify someone to represent Black Haven.
Each training section includes an exam, and a score of 100% is required to pass. Cleaners must also successfully complete the final certification exam.
The testing process confirms that the cleaner understands the material. Black Haven approval also considers their experience, documentation, conduct, availability, equipment, transportation, communication, and ability to apply the standards during real work.
Certification demonstrates knowledge. Approval to accept Black Haven services requires the complete professional standard.
Professional Equipment and Preparation
Cleaning professionals must arrive prepared for the services they accept.
Their tools and equipment must be suitable for professional use and approved by Black Haven. Equipment must be maintained, cleaned, and used in a way that prevents damage and cross-contamination between properties.
Professionals are also expected to review the service details before arriving, including:
Property access instructions
Client priorities
Rooms included in the service
Surface-care notes
Pet information
Privacy boundaries
Known damage or safety concerns
Requested rotational tasks
Professional service begins before cleaning starts.
Respectful Conduct Inside Client Properties
Technical cleaning ability alone does not make someone a qualified Black Haven professional.
Every cleaner representing Black Haven is expected to:
Treat clients and household members respectfully
Protect client privacy and confidentiality
Follow the Closed-Door Policy
Avoid opening excluded storage areas or appliances
Use professional and appropriate language
Keep personal phone use to a minimum
Respect property-specific instructions
Work safely around children and pets
Report damage or concerns immediately
Leave every area neat and professionally presented
Clients should feel comfortable with both the quality of the work and the conduct of the person completing it.
Documented Work and Ongoing Accountability
Qualification does not end once a cleaner passes an exam.
Black Haven professionals must continue demonstrating the required standard through their work, communication, photographs, and service documentation.
Where applicable, professionals are required to provide:
Clear completion photographs
Accurate service reports
Details about completed rotational work
Notes about inaccessible or unfinished areas
Property observations
Documentation of damage or safety concerns
Professional summaries of the visit
This documentation allows Black Haven to monitor consistency, support future visits, and respond properly when a client has a question or concern.

They must meet our requirements for experience, identification, criminal record screening, training, knowledge, equipment, communication, documentation, and professional conduct.
