We believe clients deserve to know how the people entering their homes are selected, trained and assessed. That is why our Pro-Cleaner Academy is publicly accessible. Applicants, experienced cleaners and anyone interested in professional cleaning can review our training and test their knowledge.

Completing the Academy is an important achievement—but it is only one part of becoming a Certified Black Haven Cleaner.

BECOME A CERTIFIED BLACK HAVEN PROFESSIONAL CLEANER

Completing the Pro-Cleaner Academy is only one part of Black Haven’s complete approval process.

To become a Certified Black Haven Cleaner authorised to work in Black Haven in clients’ homes, an applicant must successfully complete every required stage.

1. Complete the Pro-Cleaner Academy

Applicants can begin the Academy at any time.

Completing the training before applying gives applicants a clear understanding of Black Haven’s expectations.

2. Submit Your Information and Availability

Tell us about:

• Your cleaning experience (Applicants must be honest about their experience- We will train you on anything you do not have experience in)

• Your Criminal Record Check

• Your Insurance

• Government-issued identification

• The types of Cleaning Services you offer

• Your current availability

• The areas of Calgary you can serve

• Your transportation

• Your tools and equipment

• Your experience with client communication

• Your experience completing service reports

• Your ability to provide professional completion photographs

• Your Professional References

3. Final Screening

Black Haven reviews each application based on:

• Cleaning experience and judgement

• Reliability and availability

• Professional communication

• Ability to follow instructions

• Client care, privacy and discretion

• Safety awareness

• Transportation and service area

• Physical readiness

• Tools and equipment

• References and all submitted documentation

4. Certification

Becoming a Certified Black Haven Pro Cleaner shows that you have completed the Pro-Cleaner Academy, passed the required exams and demonstrated an understanding of Black Haven’s professional service standards.

Certification helps cleaners:

• Build trust with clients before entering their homes

• Demonstrate professional training and cleaning knowledge

• Stand out as a qualified and dependable cleaner

• Be considered for more service opportunities through Black Haven

• Build relationships with recurring clients

• Show that they understand client care, privacy and discretion

• Demonstrate safe cleaning practices and professional judgement

• Strengthen their professional reputation

• Continue developing their skills and experience

Certification tells clients that you have taken the time to learn Black Haven’s standards and are prepared to provide respectful, reliable and detail-focused service in their homes.

Certification does not guarantee a specific number of clients or service opportunities. Opportunities depend on client demand, location, availability, qualifications, performance and the services required.

MORE THAN A CLEANING JOB

A Black Haven Certified Professional Cleaner is trusted inside clients’ homes, around their family, pets and belongings.
Technical cleaning ability matters, but so does reliability, judgement, communication and respect.

We are always looking for cleaners who:

• Have previous professional cleaning experience

• Take pride in detailed, consistent work

• Follow written instructions and established procedures

• Communicate respectfully and professionally

• Are dependable and honest

• Show respect for clients, their homes, their belongings and their privacy

• Have the ability to recognise and report damage, hazards and unsafe situations.

• Document completed work accurately

• Are comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• Are able to accept feedback and correct issues in a timely and professional manor

• Want to continue developing their skill

Become a Certified Black Haven Cleaner

A person becomes a Certified Black Haven Pro-Cleaner only after completing all requirements:

• Completing All Pro-Cleaner Academy Training

• Passing All Exams with a score of 100%

• Completing The Application Process and Screening Requirements

• Providing All Necessary Documentation

• Completing Practical Assessments

• Obtaining Final Black Haven Approval

Only fully approved cleaners may represent Black Haven and provide services to Black Haven clients.

Certification confirms that the cleaner has demonstrated both knowledge and practical ability according to Black Haven’s Professional Cleaning Standards.
