Licensed and Insured
Professional Protection for Your Property
Inviting a cleaning professional into your home or property requires trust. You should feel confident not only in the quality of the cleaning, but also in the business responsible for providing it.
Black Haven Property Services is a licensed and insured Calgary business. These protections form part of the professional structure behind every service we accept.
What Does “Licensed” Mean in Calgary?
Businesses operating in Calgary must be registered with The City and receive approval for their business to operate. Depending on their activities, companies cleaning private residences or commercial properties may also require a municipal Cleaning Service licence.
Black Haven has met all licensing requirements applicable to our Calgary operations. This connects our business identity and activities to The City’s licensing system and confirms that we are operating within Calgary’s established requirements.
A business licence does not guarantee the quality of a cleaning service on its own. That is why Black Haven supports its licensing with insurance, professional training, criminal record check requirements, documented cleaning standards and clear service accountability.
Licensing is one part of showing our clients that Black Haven is an identifiable, established business that takes its professional responsibilities seriously.
Why Insurance Matters
Even when professionals work carefully, cleaning takes place around valuable property, delicate finishes, furniture, appliances and personal belongings.
Business insurance provides an added layer of protection if an unexpected incident occurs during an approved Black Haven service. It also demonstrates that we take our responsibilities inside client properties seriously.
Insurance is not a replacement for careful work. It supports the prevention, documentation and response procedures we already follow.
Protection Begins Before Cleaning
Our first priority is to prevent damage from occurring.
Black Haven professionals are trained to:
Review property-specific instructions before beginning
Use approved products, tools and cleaning methods
Consider the material and finish before treating a surface
Avoid using aggressive methods when a surface may be damaged
Document visible pre-existing damage or deterioration
Respect closed doors and excluded areas
Report concerns as soon as they are discovered
Work carefully around fragile, loose or unstable items
If an item or surface cannot be cleaned safely, we may leave it untouched and explain the concern rather than risk causing damage.
Clear Documentation and Accountability
Professional protection also requires clear records.
Depending on the service, Black Haven may document:
The agreed scope of work
Client instructions and privacy boundaries
Access information
Product or surface-care restrictions
Pre-existing damage
Before-and-after conditions
Work completed
Property concerns noticed during the visit
If a concern arises, these records allow us to review what happened fairly and respond appropriately.
What Clients Can Do to Help Protect Their Property
Before service, we ask clients to identify:
Delicate or specialty surfaces
Antiques and irreplaceable belongings
Loose, cracked or unstable fixtures
Previous repairs
Known damage
Items with special care requirements
Products or methods that must not be used
Areas that should not be entered or cleaned
Clients should also secure cash, medication, jewellery, important documents, firearms and fragile valuables before the appointment.
Clear information helps us choose the safest method and provide the best possible care.
More Than a Cleaning Appointment
Being licensed and insured is only one part of professional service. Black Haven combines that protection with training, careful screening, documented standards, clear communication and detailed service records.
Our goal is to provide more than a clean property. We want every client to feel confident in who is entering their space, how the work will be completed and who remains accountable for the service.
That is part of the Black Haven Standard.
One Call Cleans It All.
